Course Description
This English language course on public speaking will help you to develop the skills and confidence you need to deliver speeches and presentations in English. You will learn how to structure and deliver speeches, use body language and voice projection, and deal with nerves and difficult questions. The course will also cover how to adapt your speeches for different audiences and occasions.
Course Content
- Public speaking typologies – Ceremonial, Demonstrative, Informative and Persuasive Speaking
- Initial self-assessment of oratorical strengths and weaknesses
- Initiating and crafting speeches and the messages these contain
- Developing confidence
- Characterising the delivery channel or medium
- Characterising the audience and the context
- Preparing for and managing public speaking situational issues
- Dealing with audience Interference
- Garnering audience feedback and refining technique

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

Assessment and Certificates
Assessment of performance will be through delegate-completed portfolio of work. The final course certification for successful completion is a college-issued “Course Certificate of Completion”, for each module studied. In addition, where applicable, delegates will receive relevant EuroPass certificates.
