Digital Storytime – Digital Storytelling For Educators

Course Description

This course is designed for educators who want to learn how to use digital storytelling in their classrooms. It is suitable for all teachers and it will be adapted to your digital skills, needs and school type (primary, secondary, VET).

Digital storytelling is an innovative educational approach that combines traditional narrative techniques with digital multimedia such as images, audio, video, and text.

It offers teachers a dynamic way to introduce or explain concepts, foster student creativity through project-based learning, and support reflection or implement cross-curricular activities. This increases content retention and connects classroom learning to real-world applications.

By incorporating digital storytelling into the classroom, educators can engage students more deeply, promote student voice, and develop essential 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, communication, and critical thinking. It also supports diverse learners by allowing multiple forms of expression and encourages collaboration and meaningful engagement.

The course will cover the basics of digital storytelling, including how to create and use digital stories with students. Participants will learn how to integrate digital stories into their curriculum, and how to use digital storytelling to assess student learning. The course will also cover ways to use digital stories to engage parents and the community in school activities.
Focus will also be given to hands-on learning of digital and AI enhanced tools for digital storytelling teachers

Equipping Educators Scheme

In addition to the training, participants will be issued related software per group to be used within their institution (school groups only).
