Course Description
Designed for B2–C1 teachers and educators, this intensive course focuses on advanced grammar, idiomatic expressions and academic language. Sessions encourage sophisticated language use through debates, problem‑solving tasks and academic writing workshops. Participants analyse authentic materials (e.g., news articles, podcasts) and refine pronunciation. Cultural enrichment includes literary tours, theatre visits and discussions of Irish literature and current affairs, providing opportunities to practise nuanced communication and broaden cultural understanding.
Course Content
- Advanced grammar and usage (conditionals, phrasal verbs, discourse markers)
- Academic vocabulary and idioms
- Writing lab: essays, proposals, summarising complex texts
- Debate & seminar‑style speaking practice
- Listening to authentic media and TED‑style talks
- Irish literature, music and contemporary culture through excursions
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

Assessment and Certificates
Assessment of performance will be through delegate-completed portfolio of work. The final course certification for successful completion is a college-issued “Course Certificate of Completion”, for each module studied. In addition, where applicable, delegates will receive relevant EuroPass certificates.
