Supporting Gifted Students: Differentiation and Inclusive Teaching

Course Description

How can teachers provide meaningful challenges for gifted students .while supporting the needs of the whole class? This course on teaching gifted learners explores practical approaches to differentiation and personalised instruction, helping educators create learning environments where gifted students can develop their abilities and participate fully alongside their peers.

Participants will explore the characteristics and educational needs of gifted learners and consider how these influence classroom engagement and learning. The course will focus on recognising individual strengths and identifying opportunities to provide appropriate intellectual challenge within a diverse classroom.

Through practical activities and case studies, participants will examine how to adapt lessons, tasks and learning experiences to meet gifted learners’ needs. They will explore ways to encourage deeper thinking, creativity and active engagement, while maintaining shared learning opportunities for students with different abilities.
